Jupiter

The giant of the solar system, Jupiter, has more mass than all of the rest of the planets combined. It has a rotation of around 10 hours so it will change a lot if observed throughout an entire night. Four of it’s 95 moons can be seen in small telescopes and some binoculars, and three are visible in this shot. Spacecraft have flown through plumes shooting out of the icy crust of Europa which turned out to be salty water and scientists suspect an ocean under the ice. Earlier this month, the Europa Clipper was launched to investigate further, starting the long journey there for a 2030 arrival.
