Do you take a moment to pause and look up at the stars?
If you don’t feel the pull to look up, there is a good chance you live amongst the majority of the world’s population who reside in cities under light polluted skies. The awesome beauty of the night sky is obscured by this light pollution. I highly recommend getting out of the city on a clear, moonless night and taking in this glorious scene.
The night I took this shot was filled with fear(of bears, I was hoping my Paul Simon playlist coming from my small speaker would keep them far enough away), excitement, amazement, and pure joy. I could see my subject clear enough to frame it up with my 30mm lens. When I saw the first test shot, my jaw nearly hit the ground! What I had originally witnessed as a grey cloud stretching across the sky was suddenly bursting with vibrancy and depth my eyes would never be able to see on their own. The intensity was truly astonishing.
