The Moon

The Moon

The first thing people usually point a telescope at is our moon. It’s big and bright and is relatively easy to get it lined up. As it goes through it’s phases, there is always something new to see as the light and shadows reveal new details by the hour. Everyone I’ve seen taking a peek through the eyepiece of the moon for the first time has gasped and spends a lot of time taking in the scene. There are mountain ranges, smooth ancient lava flows, and seemingly endless craters.
